CALIFORNIA MARCH 3RD, 2020 PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION

49TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT VOTING INFORMATION

The 49th District covers two counties: Orange County and San Diego County.

Dates and information to remember for both counties:

January 26th – Voter Guides are mailed out to all voters

February 3rd – Vote by Mail Ballots are mailed out to all voters

March 3rd – Presidential Primary Election Day

If you vote by mail, your ballot must be postmarked by or dropped off by election day, March 3rd.

In California, we have an Open Primary election system except for when it comes to voting for a Presidential candidate.

If you are registered as a Democrat or Republican, your ballot WILL include the Presidential candidate(s) running for your party’s nomination.

If you are registered as a No-Party-Preference voter, an Independent voter, or as any other political party, your ballot will NOT include any Presidential candidates. If you want to vote for a Presidential candidate, you must contact the County Registrar to request a Presidential Ballot.

**ORANGE COUNTY HAS INTRODUCED A NEW VOTING SYSTEM FOR ALL VOTERS**

This year, Orange County has switched to an all-mail-ballot voting system, which means that all registered voters will automatically receive their ballot in the mail. Instead of traditional polling places, Orange County will be setting up Vote Centers across the county as well as multiple Ballot Drop Box locations.

Orange County (only) information to remember:

Vote Centers: The new Vote Centers will open 11 days before the election. At any Vote Center in Orange County, you may: drop off your ballot, request a new ballot if you lost or damaged the one you received in the mail, request a Presidential Ballot, request a Ballot printed in another language.

To locate the closest Vote Center, please visit: https://www.ocvote.com/fileadmin/vc/

Ballot Drop Boxes: There will be designated Ballot Drop Boxes located across the county.

To locate the closest Ballot Drop Box, please visit: https://www.ocvote.com/fileadmin/vc/

The Orange County information listed above does not apply to San Diego County. For San Diego County voters, the voting system will remain the same as it was in 2018.

You may also drop off your completed, signed, and sealed ballot at either our Orange County or San Diego County campaign offices, and we can take it to the registrar for you.
