Sheila Kuehl endorses Mike Levin for Congress

Sheila Kuehl, one of California’s most respected progressive elected leaders, has endorsed Democrat Mike Levin for Congress in CD49.
Sheila Kuehl, who currently serves as a member of the powerful Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, served 14 years in the state legislature where she authored and passed some of the most significant legislation in modern California history. Her Paid Family Leave bill has become a model for state and federal legislation.
“Mike Levin is a proven progressive leader who has been in the forefront of the fight for a clean and sustainable energy future,” Kuehl stated. “I trust Mike Levin to stand up to the current Administration and protect California’s values as a member of Congress. Mike will be a passionate voice for universal health care and affordable higher education. I am proud to endorse Mike Levin for Congress.”
Sheila Kuehl, a pioneering women’s rights attorney, was the first openly gay or lesbian member elected to the state legislature. She served as the first woman Speaker Pro-Tempore. After serving the in legislature, Sheila Kuehl was Founding Director of the Public Policy Institute at UCLA.
