San Diego Police Officers Association Endorses Mike Levin For Re-Election To Congress
For Immediate release
In recognition of his strong advocacy for public safety, the San Diego Police Officers Association has endorsed Congressmember Mike Levin for re-election in 2020.
“Mike Levin listens to and works with all stakeholders to protect our communities,” stated Jack Schaeffer, President of the SDPOA. “We acknowledge his unwavering commitment to ensuring local police departments have the tools they need and appreciated his support for legislation providing permanent authorization for the 9-11 Victims Compensation Fund. We are proud to endorse Mike Levin for re-election.”
Mike Levin responded, “I am deeply honored to have won the trust and support of San Diego’s frontline police officers. Public safety is always the first priority of government, at all levels, and I will continue to stand behind our first responders.”
SDPOA, founded in 1953, represents the over 1,800 sworn officers in the San Diego Police Department. Rigorously bi-partisan, the SDPOA has endorsed both Republicans and Democrats for Congress in recent election cycles.
Levin was elected in one of the nation’s most watched Congressional elections in 2018. His seat runs along the coast including portions of San Diego City, northern San Diego County and southern Orange County.
