PORAC, the State’s Largest Law Enforcement Organization Endorses
Mike Levin for Re-Election to Congress
For Immediate Release
The Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) has announced their endorsement of Mike Levin for re-election to Congress in California’s 49th District.
PORAC is the largest organization of law enforcement officers in the state and the largest statewide association in the nation, representing over 75,000 peace officers in 930 member associations across California. PORAC affiliates in the 49th Congressional District include the San Diego Police Officers Association, Carlsbad Police Officers Association, and Oceanside Police Officers Association.
“Mike Levin has been conscientious and effective,” stated Brian Marvel, President of PORAC. “He listens and works to forge bipartisan solutions to local problems. We appreciate his willingness to consult with local law enforcement on public safety issues, and he has been a champion for our priorities. Peace officers are proud to stand with Representative Mike Levin.”
“PORAC members put their lives on the line for us every day,” responded Levin. “They keep us safe in our homes, in our schools, and in our neighborhoods. I am committed to doing everything in my power to ensure that they have the tools and support to fulfill that mission. I am truly honored to have the support of PORAC and the heroes they represent.”
PORAC has a long tradition of bi-partisan endorsements, supporting Democrats and Republicans in state legislative and congressional districts. In November 2018, PORAC did not make an endorsement in the open 49th Congressional District race.
As he seeks re-election in 2020, Mike Levin has clearly emerged as the preferred candidate of local law enforcement officers and firefighters. Levin has already been endorsed by the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, Carlsbad Police Officers Association, San Diego Police Officers Association, and the Oceanside Firefighters Association.
