Congressmember Nanette Barragán (D-San Pedro) has announced she is endorsing clean energy attorney Mike Levin for Congress in California’s 49th District. Congressmember Barragán joins three of her colleagues in the California Congressional delegation in endorsing Mike Levin’s campaign, including Reps. Adam Schiff, Tony Cárdenas, and Jimmy Gomez.
“We need a new generation of leaders in the House of Representatives who will stand up for social, economic, and environmental justice,” stated Congressmember Barragán. “I am deeply impressed with Mike Levin’s experience, intelligence and determination. He will be an excellent Representative and an effective voice for the residents of his District. I am proud to endorse Mike Levin for Congress and look forward to serving with him.”
As the youngest of eleven children raised by immigrants from Mexico, Congressmember Barragán beat the odds and put herself through UCLA and USC Law School. She began her congressional career in January 2017, where she is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Progressive Caucus. She serves on the Committee on Homeland Security and Natural Resources.
“I am honored to have Congressmember Barragán’s endorsement,” said Mike Levin. “Her background and service are an inspiration to me and I look forward to working together to improve the lives of all Southern Californians.”
Mike Levin is the leading Democratic candidate challenging Darrell Issa in California’s CD49. Levin grew up in South Orange County, attended Stanford and Duke University Law School. Today, Mike Levin works as an expert in the field of clean energy, sustainable power generation and transportation. Mike, his wife Chrissy and their two children live in San Juan Capistrano.
