The 31-member Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ political arm, Bold PAC, has endorsed Mike Levin for Congress in District 49.
One of the largest, most active and effective caucuses in Congress, the CHC Bold PAC has pledged their full support to ensuring that Darrell Issa is replaced by Democrat Mike Levin in 2018.
“Mike Levin has the skills, compassion and persistence to be an outstanding member of Congress,” stated Bold PAC Chair Representative Tony Cardenas (D-Los Angeles). “I am impressed with his work in the clean energy field, helping to create good jobs for the 21st Century.”
Mike Levin will make sure voters know the facts: Darrell Issa is way out of step with his district and with the nation.
- Issa voted five times to end DACA.
- Issa voted against the DREAM Act in the first place.
- Issa appeared at an anti-immigrant hate group rally in June 2017
- Issa co-sponsored a bill to end birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants.
Mike Levin is the grandson of immigrants from Mexico who built a better life for their family here in California. He will be a champion for just and responsible immigration policies that make our nation stronger.
Mike Levin responded to the endorsement, “I am so proud to have the support of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Bold PAC. All 31 members of the caucus are passionate champions for the values that have built our nation and nurtured the American Dream.”
The CHC Bold PAC is the nation’s fastest growing Democratic PAC. In California, Bold PAC played a critical important role in the electoral victories of Nanette Barragàn and Jimmy Gomez. Mike Levin is one of Bold PACs first endorsements for the 2018 cycle, indicating the high priority being placed on this district.
The 49th Congressional District, which includes portions of northern San Diego and southern Orange counties, has a substantial Latino community. According to the 2010 census, 26% of the residents of the 49th are Latino.
