Mike Levin has secured another significant endorsement in his bid for Congress in CD 49 as Assemblymember Laura Friedman joins a growing list of supporters.
“I trust Mike Levin to fight for the progressive values that Democrats care about,” Friedman stated. “Mike will be a champion for reproductive rights, paid family leave and quality, affordable and universal health care. I strongly endorse Mike Levin for Congress in CD49.”
Friedman was elected to Assembly District 43 in 2016, after serving as Mayor and City Councilmember in Glendale. She has rapidly risen to a position of influence as a member of the Appropriation and Rules committees and as a recognized leader on environmental, housing and economic development issues.
As a leader in the Women’s Legislative Caucus, Friedman has played an important role in passing far-reaching legislation to secure full gender equality.
“Laura Friedman is a true citizen leader who got into politics to fight to improve her community,” responded Mike Levin. “She is already making a big difference for the entire state and is emerging as one of California’s most effective, committed and creative leaders. I am deeply honored to have her confidence and support.”
Mike Levin has already been endorsed by numerous community leaders in the early stages of this campaign, including many prominent women such as California Controller Betty Yee, Board of Equalization member Fiona Ma, Dana Point Mayor Debra Lewis, National City Councilmember Alejandra Sotelo-Solis, Encinitas Councilmember Tasha Boerner Horvath and San Diego Councilmember Barbara Bry.
Mike Levin has also been endorsed by the National Organization for Women (NOW), the nation’s largest, oldest and most respected women’s rights group.
