According to financial filings released today in the 49th Congressional District battle, Republican Matt Gunderson continues to pump money into his never-ending quest to be elected to something somewhere, but he’s not having a lot of help convincing anyone to join him.

In the period, Gunderson dropped another $1.3 million into his campaign, but was only able to raise $349,562 from other people or PACs.  Gunderson is undertaking his fourth largely self-funded race, for his fourth office in two states.

In stark contrast, Levin raised $1,124,835 from people not named “Mike Levin” – outraising Gunderson by a 3.2 to 1 margin.

Gunderson is burning his money as quickly as it is going in with an astonishing 96.6% burn rate, leaving him with a paltry $320,257 to contest the final month of the campaign.  Levin, on the other hand, had $1,416,598 cash on hand at the close.

Gunderson showed $2,159,933 in outstanding debt, mostly to himself.  Levin had a fiscally responsible $0 in outstanding debt or loans.
